Chicago Colleges
Cassandra Tidwell
It's that time again. No, it is not Christmas, but college. Students should be enrolling or already enrolled for the fall semester, but some might be a little stuck as to which college to choose. Well, this list will be of some help, at least to those few who have decided on going to a college in Chicago. Chicago has a very large variety of colleges for students, whether they are looking into going to a four year university or maybe just a two year community college.
The first of the Chicago colleges on the list is, of course, The University of Chicago. University of Chicago is a private college. More and more people these days are increasingly interested in public colleges, but don't knock the private colleges; they have quite a bit to offer too. The campus is absolutely beautiful, commemorating just how great Chicago colleges really are. University of Chicago offers many different programs for just about anybody. They have programs available to undergrads, grads, etc. They also have professional schools, such as law, business, medicine, etc.
The next of the Chicago colleges on the list is actually a community college. Harry S Truman College, most commonly referred to by student and those familiar with it as Truman College, is a city college. I know most people are turning their nose up right now. We all know the track history of community colleges; they are the colleges people usually go to when they do not want to do as much work as it would take to do at a university. Truman College is truly magnificent though. Many successful students come from this college. Not to mention, they also were featured in the film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding in 2002. Not just any old college is going to be worthy of being on national television. Hopefully this list (as short as it was) was of some assistance to those people out there who are still deciding on where to attend.
